On the 13 November I participated in the 23rd Spastic Annual Charity Walk / Jog/ Wheel-a-thon with the Disabled. SCI Malaysia is one of the 38 participating organizations (POs) in the event. This year’s they also got entry into the Malaysia Book of Records for being the longest-running charity walk event for both the able-bodied and people with disabilities
Over 2000 including over 300 people with special needs or disability took part. The event started with a march-pass with 25 Super-Bikers and a 85 uniformed Band leading the VIPs and all the participants for a warm-up. There were several categories of runners. I happily walked the 4 km distance with members of SCI Malaysia in the Open, free and easy group. All participants were given a medal and certificate for completion.
After the run we were entertained by groups of people with disabilities at the main stage area. These included the Laughter Yoga, Ukulele presentation and Performances by these talented people.
We were all give Nasi Lemak and Fried BeeHoon, waffles, buns and mineral water too. It was really fun and they managed to get lot of sponsors for lucky draws and winners for the race and charity collection. I had a great time – Sincere and grateful thanks to SCI Malaysia for inviting me.
